Common Waste Removal Questions

  • What is the trash bag limit?

    100 Gallons (6–7 kitchen-sized bags

  • Do you offer recycling?

    We do not offer a separate recycling program.

  • I need a dumpster for a cleanout. How do I arrange one to be dropped off?

    Call our office or email service@haulawaymo.com to schedule your dumpster.

  • How do I dispose of sharp objects?

    Sharp objects, such as needles, razor blades, and knives, should be placed inside of durable plastic bottles, sealed with tape, placed in the trash, and marked accordingly. Large pieces of glass should be duct taped along the edges with a large X taped in the center from corner to corner, to reduce the risk of injuries.

  • Can I put larger items out with my pickup?

    :Yes, but you must let our office know about items before pickup.

  • What do I do when I have larger items?

    Request an extra pickup (most of these are done on Fridays). Some items can be picked up with your regular service.

  • How do I pay my bill?

    In person, by phone, via the website, or by mail.

  • What payments are accepted?

    Cash, Check, Money Order, Credit/Debit card or automatic withdrawal from checking account (ACH). 

  • Is there an after-hours drop box?

    No, there is not. 

  • How do I set up automatic payments each month?

    Request an ACH form.

  • What time will my pickup be?

    We attempt to maintain the same scheduled service times. However, it is difficult to duplicate pickup times each week due to uncontrollable circumstances. To help ensure pickup, please have your trash at the curb and ready for pickup by 5:00 a.m. on collection day or the night before.

  • How do I change my pickup days?

    Request a service change.

  • When is my payment due each month?

    Payment is due upon receipt of bill. 

  • What do I do if the driver misses my pickup?

    Contact the office so that we are aware of the miss and will work out a plan to service your account. 

  • Do you work on holidays?

    We work all holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  • Is there another way to contact the company besides the office phone?

    Yes, please message stephen@haulawaymo.com or direct message us via our Facebook page. 

  • What areas do you service?

    All of Hannibal and parts of New London, Palmyra, and Frankford. 

  • How do you operate in adverse weather conditions?

    Haul-A-Way at times may need to cancel or postpone collection services due to weather, disasters, acts of God, emergencies or uncontrollable circumstances. Areas that remain unserviceable will be postponed until it is determined that our crews can operate safely and unobstructed. When delays in service occur, our crews will run all accessible routes as normal and continue into the next day until the route is complete. For up-to-date information concerning delays and cancellations, please call our office or email service@haulawaymo.com. We will make every effort to provide service as conditions allow. There will be no adjustment made to your bill for service cancellations or delays due to situations out of our control, such as: weather, unsafe road conditions, etc.
